Community Engagement Specialist

As the Community Engagement Specialist, Paige’s role is to build partnerships with local organizations and University Institutes and Centers to develop creative and innovative programming. Paige has collaborated with Beckman Institute, Cancer Center, Institute for Sustainability, Energy, and Environment (iSEE), and National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA) to lead a community outreach program called the Illinois Science Explorers (I-Sci Explorers). The I-Sci Explorers mission is to bring educational science programming to K through 12 children in the C-U community using evidence based social and behavioral science principles.

I-Sci Explorers has partnered with the Champaign Park District’s Martens Center to deliver this programming to families in the community, and to create programming for the Don Moyer Boys & Girls Club, an after-school program housed in the Center.

Paige’s educational background includes a MS in Biological Sciences with a focus in Conservation Biology and a BS in Biology with a minor in Environmental Studies from Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois.
