On May 1, CSBS welcomed more than 50 researchers and faculty to Neil St. Blues for our first annual Social and Behavioral Science Spring Social, a relaxed gathering designed to celebrate the work of social and behavioral scientists and strengthen the connections that sustain it.
With current changes in the federal funding landscape, along with the many demands in our work and family lives, being part of a supportive, inclusive research community can be a challenge. The Spring Social offered a chance for connection, reminding us of the value of conversation and exchange with our colleagues across disciplines. Attendees socialized over refreshments and shared updates on recent projects, discussing the new questions and perspectives emerging from their fields.

“These kinds of informal conversations give us perspective, let us know we are not alone, and help us keep our work innovative,” one attendee reflected. “You hear a question from someone in another discipline and realize it’s exactly what you needed to think about.”
CSBS is here to support and celebrate social and behavioral scientists on our campus, because building meaningful, impactful research programs does not happen in isolation. Thank you to all who joined us – we are proud to be building this vibrant, supportive community with you.
