CSBS is pleased to welcome Dr. Becky Miller, Program Leader at the National Institutes of Health Office of the Director, for an in-depth seminar on the NIH High-Risk, High-Reward Research Program. This initiative, part of the NIH Common Fund, offers annual funding opportunities to support exceptionally innovative and impactful research across all career stages.
NIH High-Risk, High-Reward Research Program Seminar with Dr. Becky Miller

Dr. Miller will provide an overview of the program and its four prestigious awards:
- NIH Director’s Pioneer Award: for scientists with outstanding records of creativity pursuing pioneering approaches to major challenges
- NIH Director’s New Innovator Award: for exceptionally creative early career scientists proposing innovative, high-impact projects.
- NIH Director’s Transformative Research Award: for individuals or teams proposing groundbreaking, unconventional research with the potential to create new scientific paradigms
- NIH Director’s Early Independence Award: for exceptional junior scientists bypassing postdoctoral training to launch independent research careers
Researchers from all disciplines with interests in behavioral or social sciences within the NIH mission are encouraged to attend—including PhD students, early-career faculty, and established investigators.
