About Cristina: Cristina is a political scientist with experience in the areas of political economy, governance, institutional strengthening, food security, women’s empowerment, and migration, and in contexts as diverse as Malawi, Sierra Leone and Ecuador.
She has led M&E, learning and research efforts for USAID-funded projects. She specialized in conducting research in international development settings, which includes designing sampling procedures, survey instruments and capacity assessment tools; programming offline data collection surveys; training and supervising enumerators; ensuring data quality; analyzing quantitative and qualitative data and writing reports as well as peer-reviewed journal publications.
She also has experience with grant proposal writing, coordination of research partners and grant execution management.
Cristina joined CSBS in September 2019 as the Associate Director. In this role, Cristina is responsible for developing, implementing and managing the CSBS research program, research services and facilities in direct support of the CSBS Director.
